Description

Open up a world of musical possibility. The Kawai K200 with ATX4 Silent system truly does blend the best of acoustic prowess with digital convenience. Acoustically you are able to revel in iconic Kawai craftsmanship before switching seamlessly into silent play for full immersion without disturbing anyone around you, or them disturbing you!

The Kawai K200 ATX4 upright piano incorporates an acoustic muting feature with powerful digital audio components, allowing pianists to continue enjoying the distinctive feeling of a traditional piano, while listening discretely using private headphones.

With outstanding tone and touch in a 114 cm frame, the Kawai K200 offers the dependability and character needed to please any performing pianist from the novice to the seasoned professional.

Acoustic properties

Loaded with fine craft, the Kawai K200 features Kawai's industry leading Millennium III Upright Action, made of ABS-Carbon, a composite material created by the infusion of carbon fiber into our renowned ABS Styran. The result is a stronger, faster action that offers more power, better control and greater stability than conventional all-wood actions.

This piano also features a conventionally longer key stick, making playing easier and provide more even response from the front to the back of the playing surface. The benefits to the player are greater control and more power with less effort.

The Kawai K200 also features a full spruce soundboard, its purpose is to transform the vibrations of the piano'™s strings into a rich, resounding tone. Kawai uses only straightgrained, quartersawn solid spruce for K Series soundboards. Each soundboard is strategically tapered to maximize its tone producing capability. Only those that meet or exceed our demanding quality standards are selected for use in our professional upright pianos.

This is then supported by mahogany hammer mouldings that are lightweight and extremely responsive. Found on only the finest pianos, mahogany is used for the hammer mouldings on the entire line of K Series Professional Upright Pianos. All K Series hammers are T-Stapled to preserve hammer shape and fitted with an added interior layer of underfelt to support the creation of exceptional tone.

ATX4 Digital Functionality

The evolving sound engine, quality felt in silence

This piano also features the added module of the ATX4 Silent System, Kawai's flagship silent processor that allows seamless transitions between silent headphone play and out loud acoustics. When muted, ATX4 instruments utilise a high quality digital sound engine, which reproduces the sound of the internationally recognised Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano.

This piano-specific SK-EX Rendering sound engine combines 88-key multi-channel sampling and advanced modelling technology to deliver the most realistic grand piano sound possible, with effects that allow pianists to simulate the reverb and ambience of performing in a concert hall. In addition, ATX4 instruments also include a selection of alternative piano sounds, including the EX full concert and SK-5 mid-sized grand, and a variety of other instruments such as church organ and strings.

Natural, acoustic piano touch '“ even when muted

ATX4 instruments incorporate Kawai'™s advanced IHSS technology, utilising contact-less optical sensors to accurately capture the subtle movements of the action hammers. This allows the full range of expression from delicate pianissimo to thunderous fortissimo to be performed with fluency, and for the natural touch of the piano to be maintained, even when the acoustic sound is muted.

Convenient, buttonless operation

ATX4 instruments operate via Kawai's revolutionary PianoRemote app, The digital features of AnyTimeX4 pianos are exclusively controlled via the Kawai PianoRemote app, available for both iOS and Android devices.

PianoRemote provides a range of functions, including sound selection and customisation via the Virtual Technician feature, performance record and playback with integrated metronome, and a built-in piano music library consisting of hundreds of classical pieces to enjoy – all accessible from an attractive, intuitive user interface.
