The Sweet Spot of the Range: Perfect Balance of Size, Power & Price

We are delighted to present the Yamaha YE118, the standout middle model in the YE Series that delivers the ultimate sweet spot for modern homes. Sitting perfectly between compact starter uprights and imposing institutional models, the YE118 is engineered for players who want a rich, authentic acoustic voice and a responsive Japanese action—without the hefty price tag or space demands of a larger piano.

If you are looking for a high-quality pre-owned acoustic, your search has likely led you toward older, secondhand Yamaha U-series pianos. However, most used U1s available today were built in the 1970s or 1980s and carry half a century of mechanical wear. Directly imported by our team, the YE118 offers a much newer, fresher alternative—giving you pristine action felts, tight tuning pins, and decades more playing life than an aging 1970s import, all at incredible value for money.

Yamaha Pedigree: Crafted in the Hangzhou Facility

Despite being significantly newer than vintage pre-owned options, the YE118 boasts an outstanding manufacturing pedigree. It was built in Yamaha’s state-of-the-art facility in Hangzhou—the world-class, climate-controlled plant that Yamaha chose as the official production home for their renowned B-series line.

Having inspected Yamaha’s global production facilities firsthand, we know this plant strictly operates under Japanese engineering standards, using computer-controlled CNC precision and carefully seasoned acoustic timbers. With the YE118, structural resilience, tuning stability, and long-term durability are guaranteed.

118cm Height: The Ideal Acoustic & Aesthetic Proportion

Standing at 118cm tall, the YE118 mirrors the versatile proportions of popular studio uprights like the Yamaha B2. This height provides the ideal balance for domestic acoustics:

• Balanced Tonal Profile: The 118cm frame accommodates a generous solid spruce soundboard and extended bass strings, producing a warm, well-rounded bass, a glowing mid-range, and a sparkling treble that fills a room effortlessly without becoming overpowering.

• Elegant, Modern Cabinetry: Featuring sleek lines, high-gloss polished ebony, and understated brass hardware, the YE118 is styled to complement both contemporary and period interiors.

• The Perfect Digital Upgrade: For students and advancing pianists transitioning away from a digital keyboard, the YE118 delivers the genuine physical feedback, string resonance, and dynamic control required to master proper technique.
