Rosin
Rosin is used on the bow hair to make the bow sticky so that it can grip the strings. We have a range of rosins to suit most preferences from good quality student rosins right up to more advanced rosins for those looking for specific characteristics. We are often asked "Which rosin should I use?" and the simple answer is "it depends".
Generally, Violin and Viola players prefer light rosin to dark rosin. Cello players are a bit more flexible, but the typical suggestion is use light from for the warmer months and dark rosin for the colder months. There is less flexibility for Bass players, who need a very soft and sticky rosin. However, it is important to note that all players are different, and what applies to the masses might not apply to you.
