Our Showroom Experience

We believe every interaction we have with our customers should be personalised, unique and exciting from start to finish!

Upon arrival, we begin with an initial consultation, where we get to know you, your needs and your requirements of a piano. We'll have a chat about the kinds of music you enjoy playing, where you are planning on putting the piano, how far the piano will be able to take you and any features you may need, such as silent systems or recording capabilities.

As we then guide you around our showroom, we'll help you find a number of instruments that we believe could work for you. In some respects, we often describe our showroom teams as 'the perfect waiters', we're there and on hand whenever you need any questions answering or if there is anything you'd like explaining, however when you are immersing yourself in an instrument's tonality and enjoying your play, we'll step back and leave you to it.

We believe that every musical dream is different. For many, a piano is a lifelong investment so we actively encourage you to ask as many questions as you'd like. Ultimately it's not our aim to sell you an instrument, it's our aim to help keep you playing!

Your Safety Matters To Us

We respectfully ask that you still wear face coverings in our showrooms if you can.

While the easing of restrictions means that some safety measures will no longer be a legal requirement, we’ve listened to customers and our colleagues, and we know a lot of people remain cautious.

We have a number of vulnerable team members in our showrooms and as such, as well as operating on our priority appointment system, we are respectfully asking anyone visiting our showrooms to please keep wearing a face covering in our stores if you can. Our teams will also be doing so throughout every appointment and time spent in the showrooms.

Although the legal requirement to wear a face covering in England ends on 19 July, the government expects and recommends that people continue to wear a face covering in enclosed spaces. So we’re encouraging our colleagues and you, our customers, to continue wearing face coverings if you can.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Grand Pianos

From baby grands to full concert grands, our showrooms offer a unique experience to try some of the most incredible instruments in the world. From manufacturers such as C.Bechstein, W.Hoffmann and Zimmermann, our grand piano range is amongst the largest in the country.

When it comes to grand pianos, we know that dedication and full understanding is key, that is why we regularly take our team on trips to the factories to see these incredible instruments being made, to understand the level of detail they go to in order to create perfect sound.

Upright Pianos

Upright pianos serve as a fantastic staple for any home. Compact yet incredibly powerful, upright pianos often serve as either entry points to the piano, or as a fantastic upgrade from a digital instrument. From secondhand instruments, entry level models, right the way through to professional standard pianos, our upright piano range truly has something for everyone to explore.

Many of our upright pianos come in a variety of cabinet designs, both modern and traditional as well as a selection of colours. Almost all can also be fitted with silent systems for those who require silent play but want to feel an touch of a real acoustic instrument.

Digital Pianos

Digital technologies continue to advance and make for an excellent entry point to learning the piano. Highly adaptable and connected to modern devices, these can act as wonderful learning tools for both younger players or perhaps those looking to return to the piano after a few years away.

From portable pianos that can be carried from place to place, to fully fitted digital instruments with sensational sound quality and touch, our team have had hundreds of hours of training in digital pianos to explain the key concepts and aspects that make each make brand and model different.

Cambridge - 14 Sussex Street

Our Cambridge showroom is set in the heart of the city. Sussex Street has to be one of the most picturesque streets in East Anglia. A short walk around the city streets will often be set to the chant of Choral Evensong resonating from one of the cities many college chapels or diligent practice from a music room or open student's window. It is with this background, just 50m from its historical location on Sidney Street that our Cambridge Showroom has been located since 1974 serving the musical needs of Cambridge and beyond.

Norwich - 19 St Benedicts

Located in the quaint and quiet city of Norwich, you'll find our Norwich Showroom, known as Cookes Pianos.

There is an enormous level of history behind this wonderful building and it has been the home of Cookes since its formation in 1887! A lot sure has happened since then but much like Millers, Cookes has a rich heritage of specialising in supplying beautiful pianos and organs to customers all over the country.
