Why should I rent?

Our Rental Scheme has, for decades, been a popular way to get started in music but we believe it is even more important and relevant today than ever. Our scheme provides an affordable way into music with quality instruments from trusted manufacturers.

In recent years there has been a massive increase in inferior quality instruments produced and sold very cheaply. These instruments are often cheaply made, poorly setup harming the playing experience. In many cases they are difficult if not impossible to repair especially the electrical items, and can be very difficult to re-sell.

Our experts repair and recycle quality instruments, making music more accessible and sustainable, reducing unnecessary waste.

Have questions? Then take a look at our FAQs below or contact our team support@millersmusic.co.uk or 01223 354452.

If you are unsure on how to size a cello or what size you may need, firstly, speak with your teacher who will be able to advise.

For those looking for a rough guide however, age is a Sizing the violin is easy. Simply ask the child to stand straight with their left arm held out horizontally. Then grab a tape measure or measuring tool and measure from the base of their neck to the centre of palm of their hand. Then compare the length of their arm with the chart. This is the full length of the arm and should give enough of an indication to base a violin sizing from.good way to give a rough indication on which size cello a child may need, of course this may vary slightly based on the arm length of the child.

Rental instruments are generally not for sale, especially electrical items but we do offer some rental instruments for purchase..

If the instrument develops a fault then just get in contact by email support@millersmusic.co.uk, our team will assess the issue and determine the best course of action. We can organise a repair or replacement if required.

Damage is not covered and cover of the instrument is an integral part of your obligation. You will be charged for damage that is not deemed to be wear and tear.

Absolutely not. Quite the opposite - in fact we believe buying cheap, often unrepairable instruments is a waste and unsustainable.

We believe our innovative rental scheme is one of the most affordable and risk-free ways to get started, get back into music, or try another instrument.

Not only is minimum rental just 3 months, you get up to 100% of your money back if you buy an instrument from us. This is better than renting a car or even a house!

You can just bring the instrument back to us once you're minimum term has expired. You can let us know if you would prefer by email our Support Team at support@millersmusic.co.uk and they will log your instrument as "Returning" which will also send you a few details to check before returning. Although we state 30 days notice as being required in our contract we never enforce this unless we're forced to retrieve our instrument when somebody doesn't return it.

We will cancel your contract as soon as we have checked over the instrument and that's it. Your instrument can then be reused again.
