The Barnes & Mullins BJ300 'Perfect' 5-string Resonator Banjo honours over a century of craftsmanship. Originally created by the founders Messrs Barnes and Mullins at the turn of the 1900s, these instruments remain highly sought after by collectors and musicians worldwide.

This modern interpretation features a mahogany resonator and neck paired with an aluminium rim and Remo WeatherKing head, delivering a warm, controlled tone with mature response. The ovangkol fingerboard and 22 frets provide excellent playability, whilst chrome hardware and closed gear machineheads ensure reliability and tuning stability.

The resonator design produces a naturally loud and bright sound, making it ideal for bluegrass, country, gospel, jazz, folk, classical and rock. Perfect for Scruggs-style three-finger picking, it's equally suited to other playing techniques. At 697mm scale length and weighing just 3kg, it balances comfort with projection.

A timeless instrument that connects you to B&M's heritage whilst delivering the quality and performance expected from a professional-grade banjo.

Many guitarists are drawn to the banjo's distinctive character and find the transition rewarding. If you're considering making the switch, our industry-leading rental scheme offers the perfect opportunity to explore the instrument without commitment. Try a 'Perfect' banjo risk-free and discover whether its bright, punchy tone and unique playing style resonate with your musical ambitions before investing in ownership.
