Why New Year Is The Best Time To Learn The Piano

Why New Year Is The Best Time To Learn The Piano

We love the new year. Across our 165 year history, we have often found that January usually brings with it a fantastic influx of new eager and enthusiastic musicians looking to embark on their musical journey.

Whilst the New Year often leaves many with the ‘January Blues’, those who take up the joy of learning a new instrument as a new year's resolution (and particularly if that instrument is the piano) are embraced into a rewarding and colourful world of learning something creative.

If you’re still sitting on that fence of whether or not this WILL be the year that you finally learn piano or if you’re just looking for some musical resolution ideas, we hope that this inspires you to make the right choice for you!

When it comes to new year resolutions, people are often torn on where or how they want to spend their time. For some, it’s the gym, for others it’s improving the house. Well in our (rather biased) opinion, we believe that learning the piano can actually act as a motivator to still allow you to do all of those things and more! Read more in our guide on skills the piano teaches you here.

If the past few years have taught us anything, it’s that we all do have the capacity and the need to learn something new. During the course of the year and even with the pandemic threat still looming, many people took up the piano or returned to it as a past love. These stories have all been fantastic to see and hear and for those who love the idea or returning to the piano but aren’t quite sure how or where to start after a long hiatus, look no further!
